CUSTODIAN
Job Description
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming daily and as needed
- ervice and clean all restrooms
- Dust walls, machines and equipment
- Clean windows
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and grounds and building maintenance as necessary
- Remove snow from walkways using snow shovels and spread snow melting chemicals
- Liaise with supervisor on problems to achieve efficient repair
- Identify abnormalities and repairs required within the building and advise the supervisors accordingly
- Identify areas of process improvement, cost and waste reduction
- Work in an efficient and timely manner
- Undertake relevant training and development as required
- Carry out duties within a realistic time line ensuring that deadlines are met
- Maintain cooperative working relationship and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population
- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies either manually or by using hand trucks
- Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs and trash receptacles to prepare facilities for company events and meetings
- Adhere to and carry out existing work practices, procedures and policies
- Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate
- Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be meticulous in attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision
- Excellent listening skills

- Meet deadlines
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, divide and multiply)
- Basic reading abilities
- Ability to write legibly
- Follow safety and materials policies and procedures
- Must be able to pass physical exam
- Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
- Ability to exert maximum force to pull and carry objects.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat and kneel
- Vision a minimum 20/40 with or without corrective lenses
- Good hearing
