Security Guard
Job Description
Museum security officers handle a variety of duties and responsibilities, such as the following:
- Create friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for Museum visitors, staff, and patrons
- Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to unconscious cultural or racial bias as relates to visitor identity
- groups
- Ensure Museum security protocols while walking through the galleries, or patrolling the outdoors
- Engaging with staff and visitors by answering their questions while ensuring they do not approach too
- closely or touch the artwork
- Guide traffic and wayfinding for visitors
- Provide crowd control and security for all major museum events or programs as scheduled
- Expertly handle emergencies, reporting any hazardous conditions or irregularities to the appropriate
- personnel or safety officials
- Monitor the surveillance systems such as the CCTV system
- Assist facilities in pre-event set-up and after event clean-up and removal of equipment
- Oversee the safety and security of objects, assets, and equipment
- Successful Background check
- At least one year of Customer Service experience
- HS Diploma or GED
