Job Description

Weekend Security Guard needed for Stockbridge Museum. Hours are 8:30-4:30 with potential for some hours during the week if desired.  Much of the shift requires standing/walking, indoors and out,  for several hours at a time. Pay is $19/HR

Museum security officers handle a variety of duties and responsibilities, such as the following:
  • Create friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for Museum visitors, staff, and patrons
  • Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to unconscious cultural or racial bias as relates to visitor identity
  • groups
  • Ensure Museum security protocols while walking through the galleries, or patrolling the outdoors
  • Engaging with staff and visitors by answering their questions while ensuring they do not approach too
  • closely or touch the artwork
  • Guide traffic and wayfinding for visitors
  • Provide crowd control and security for all major museum events or programs as scheduled
  • Expertly handle emergencies, reporting any hazardous conditions or irregularities to the appropriate
  • personnel or safety officials
  • Monitor the surveillance systems such as the CCTV system
  • Assist facilities in pre-event set-up and after event clean-up and removal of equipment
  • Oversee the safety and security of objects, assets, and equipment
Required: 
  • Successful Background check
  • At least one year of Customer Service experience
  • HS Diploma or GED
