Crisis Intervention Specialist
Job Description
We have a 12 week temporary assignment for a Crisis Intervention Specialist with a large and respected healthcare organization based in downtown Pittsfield. This temporary position offers a valuable opportunity to provide critical support in a dynamic environment. The role is ideal for individuals with a background, training and/or interest in human services and crisis intervention. This is a full time, Monday through Friday position, 7:30am-3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crisis Intervention: Deliver trauma-informed crisis intervention and de-escalation services to individuals in distress, ensuring a calm and supportive environment.
- Safety Monitoring: Oversee the safety, comfort, and well-being of individuals served by the facility, maintaining a vigilant and proactive approach.
- Emergency Response: Coordinate responses to urgent and emergency situations, including assessing needs and implementing appropriate interventions.
- Therapeutic Support: Provide therapeutic calming and recovery-based support, offering a proactive presence that facilitates stability and resolution.
- Program Presence: Maintain a supportive and engaging presence within the program, contributing to a positive and effective therapeutic environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in human services or a related field is required, with demonstrated experience in crisis intervention.
- Training: Previous crisis intervention training is essential, with a strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
- Organizational Fit: Strong commitment to the mission of providing compassionate care and support within a healthcare setting.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to the needs of the facility and the individuals served, with a proactive and responsive approach.
