We're seeking a Glass Technician for a family-owned and operated glass company in downtown Pittsfield. If you are reliable and detail oriented, this opportunity may be for you! The Glass Technician will be responsible for measuring, cutting, and polishing glass to meet customer specifications, working both in the shop and on customer sites for glass installation.

Responsibilities:

• Measure, cut, and polish glass to exact customer specifications
• Prepare glass for installation by ensuring it is free from defects and properly sized
• Operate glass cutting machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace in the shop
• Perform off-site installations of glass at client premises, ensuring proper fit, finish, and quality standards
• Load and unload glass safely for transport to and from job sites
• Work closely with customers and other team members to ensure timely and high-quality service
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while handling glass and operating equipment
• Perform regular maintenance and care on tools and equipment

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in glass cutting and installation preferred but not required (training available for the right candidate)
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and efficiently
• Ability to lift heavy glass sheets and materials (up to 50 lbs)
• Comfortable with working both in the shop and on-site at customer locations
• Basic math skills for measuring and cutting glass
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
