Maintenance Technician I
North Adams, MA
Temp-to-Hire
$20.00-$23.00 per hour
Our client is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician I to join their property maintenance team. This Temp-to-Hire opportunity is ideal for someone with general maintenance experience who enjoys a variety of hands-on work in a residential community.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vacant apartments for new residents
- Complete general building repairs and preventative maintenance
- Perform light plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and caulking repairs
- Assist with appliance installation and repairs
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of buildings and grounds
- Complete trash removal, pressure washing, and seasonal snow removal
- Inspect vacant units and complete punch-list items to ensure move-in readiness
- Respond to maintenance requests and assist with special projects
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance emergencies
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of maintenance, facilities, or property maintenance experience
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and appliance repair
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors and perform physical tasks, including lifting, climbing, and bending
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
Schedule
- Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Some evenings and weekends as needed
- On-call responsibilities required
